River Exe Café is surrounded by the beautiful waters and wildlife gifted to the Exe Estuary in Devon. It is located just off the Water Ski lane with the historic Engine House, Starcross on one side (from the days of Brunel’s atmospheric railway) and Exmouth and all it brings on the other. As it is situated in the protected area and SSSI, the work view is one that cannot be beaten. Breathing in fresh sea air and working with the Southwest’s finest produce, serving a menu of delightful dishes to customers from far and wide. . . . a treasure to behold!
From humble beginnings, ten years ago, the River Exe Cafe has grown into a multi award winning restaurant. The restaurant boasts popularity with locals and tourists to the region alike, operating at capacity (200 covers) most days. The unique location sets it apart from most other restaurants and makes for a very attractive workplace.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Chef team at River Exe Café. As mentioned, we are an award-winning restaurant achieving highly prestigious accolades and you can be part of that team. During his filming visit Michel Roux Jr quoted 'This place is awesome.' So, come and be part of the magic.
As a chef at the restaurant, you would need to have a passion for food, diligent work ethic, creativity and a sense of team cohesion. An interest in seafood or a willingness to learn in this area whilst working on the water itself would be essential. The restaurant menu also likes to champion fresh local now until the beginning of October.
