Have you got what we are looking for?

You will need to :

- Have a UK driving licence older than 12 months.

- Not have a criminal record.

- Be more than 25 year old. Under 25s can still work but there are certain conditions

- Live within a 30 mile radius of Chelmsford . Owner drivers can live anywhere and work for Happicabs.

Taxi drivers will need to possess the following skills:

-Good communication and interpersonal skills;

-A warm, welcoming and approachable manner;

-Competent driving skills and a good knowledge of the road and traffic systems

-Willingness to dress smart and act in a professional manner.

-Good geographical knowledge of Chelmsford and surrounding areas. However, we are willing to train any new drivers on this

-Sensitivity and the ability to deal with customers from various backgrounds and disabilities.

-Time management skills.

-Good numeracy skills and familiarity with handling money and card payments

-Good technical knowledge of vehicles

-Ability to work on smartphones and use the Apps and navigation.

Job description

Taxi driver job will involve:

-Reacting to job requests from the operator;

-Travelling to pre-determined locations to pick up passengers who have pre-booked;

-Helping passengers to get in and out the vehicle and assisting them with their luggage and belongings;

-Driving in a safe manner.

-Making sure that the correct payment/ change is given at the end of the journey.

-Providing an excellent customer service.

-Maintaining the quality of the vehicle and make sure it is fit to travel on the road at all times.

-Keeping up-to-date with changes in traffic legislation and knowledge of the local area.

The amount a driver earns depends obviously on the hours they put in. Also depends on other factors such as completing the school badge and flexibility in hours.
