Ruby & White Butchers are looking for a reliable Goods receiver to join our hard working wholesale team.
We supply a large number of pubs, restaurants, hotels and caterers in Bristol and the surrounding area. Our product range is extensive and we pride ourselves on quality, consistency and our ability to prepare customer orders to their exact requirements and specifications. We are a young and rapidly expanding wholesale butchery driven by fresh ideas and an innovative approach to succeeding in today’s competitive and evolving food service industry.
As a Goods receiver it will be your responsibility to receive and inspect orders. You will be responsible for unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the orders. You must have a great eye for detail and basic maths skills. You must also have adequate physical strength to unload orders as well as the clerical skills to update records an follow up with suppliers.
The main responsibilities of the role include;
- Receiving deliveries and sign paperwork upon receipt
- Unload packages from incoming vehicles Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged Verify packages according to delivery note and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc)
- Ensuring effective stock rotation is maintained
- Contact supplier if a mistake is identified
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory orders or receiving replacements
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
- Ensure invoices are signed for satisfactory deliveries
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Have proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position
- Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
- Basic math and recording abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Great communication and interpersonal abilities
- Keen eye for detail
- Good physical condition
This is a full time position, working approximately 40- 48 hours per week Monday- Friday. Due to the nature of the business early starts are required.
