Description:
Working with the Management Accounting Team Leader, you’ll provide a co-ordinated finance and assurance function for CT Policing. It will bring together finance activity for four main areas: national CTP, CTP within the Met, the Specialist Operations Business Group, and individual Operational Command Units within Specialist Operations.
Day to day, you’ll tackle a variety of tasks including analysing results and forecasts; outlining financial options; and improving performance. It’s a chance to work across varied functional and strategic areas such as Financial Management, Audit & Assurance; Grant Management & Allocation; and Third Party Contracts.
We’re looking for a highly organised professional who works methodically, even in demanding circumstances. Proactive and motivated, you meet deadlines and take pride in providing a high standard of service. Your expertise will cover accruals/journals, invoicing and reconciliations, and ideally, you’ll be AAT or part-CCAB qualified. Support will be provided to undertake professional accountancy training. Either way, you can analyse and interpret data, and explain financial information clearly, using strong communication skills.

Job Summary
The post holder will be responsible for working with the Management Accounting Team Leader to deliver and embed a co-ordinated commercial finance and assurance function for CT Policing, aligning counter terrorism financial activity extended across four broad areas in support of the Government’s National CONTEST strategy.
These are:
- National Counter Terrorism (CT) Policing, including Protective Security (PS);
- CT Policing within the Metropolitan Police Service;
- Specialist Operations (SO) Business Group within the MPS; and
- Individual Operational Command Units within Specialist Operations
Main areas of delegated responsibility will fall across the following strategic and functional areas:
- Financial Management, Audit & Assurance
- CT Policing Grant Management and Allocation
- Third Party Contracts; and
- Protective Security Grant Management
