Are you passionate about the power of the media to change lives? Do you have a knack for finding interesting angles on stories and a strong track record of delivering impactful media campaigns? Our client is looking for someone with a sound knowledge of PR principles and practices to help them raise awareness of childhood deafness, drive forward their campaigns and motivate the public to support them.

You will work with a range of diverse teams across the charity to shape media relations strategies and plan and deliver integrated media and PR projects to a wide range of print, broadcast and digital media outlets. Your excellent communication skills, together with the ability to liaise with internal and external contacts, will make you an invaluable part of the media team. This is an exciting and challenging role and will suit someone who enjoys working both independently and as part of a wider communications department.

Ideally, you will have experience working within a charity, campaigning or political environment but our client is open to applications from candidates with agency experience.

To apply for this role, you will have to complete an online application and specify how you meet the person specification criteria, as outlined in the job description. To do this, our client suggests that you download the job description from their website prior to starting your application.

Currently, the application process works best on desktop / laptop devices.

The closing date for applications is on Sunday 31st October at 23:59.

Our client expects interviews to be held virtually on Monday, 8th November.

The organisation is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young adults and expects staff and volunteers to share that commitment.

A disclosure check will be sought in relation to the successful applicant for this post. This will be shared with Human Resources and may also be shared with the Safeguarding Manager and the relevant management team. All applicants must also complete a self-disclosure form.

Our client strives to provide an accessible recruitment process. If a disability or long-term condition makes it difficult for you to complete the application form, please contact them to discuss alternative formats. If you require reasonable adjustments for taking part in the interview, please indicate this in response to the corresponding question in the application form.

Our client is a Disability Confident Employer and committed to offering interviews to candidates who request to be considered under the disability confident scheme and meet the minimum requirements of the person specification.

Our client aims to be an equal opportunities employer and are committed to promoting work life balance amongst its staff.

As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be asked to declare and explain their gaps in employment. All offers of employment are subject to pre-employment checks – these checks include but are not limited to references, right to work in the UK, disclosure (if applicable) and qualifications (if applicable).

So, if you’re seeking your next challenge as a Senior Media Relations Officer, please apply via the button shown.
