ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This position will function as the project manager of an Alliance-wide (Internews US and Internews Europe) "One Internews" effort with the goal to become more integrated, aligned, consistent, and efficient in our support of Internews' mission and programs across the globe. This initiative is currently envisioned to include several specific workstreams, including 1) a top-down review of our corporate structure and operating model; 2) simplification of our existing alliance agreements; 3) integration of our business operations functions; and 4) providing distributed business services internationally. This initiative requires cross-Alliance collaboration and coordination, creative problem-solving, and strong project management skills.

LOGISTICS

Internews has headquarters offices in Washington, DC and London, UK which support a hybrid workforce with staff working remotely, fully in-office, or partially remote. Ultimately, this position may work remotely, in-office, or partially remote from the United States or the United Kingdom. You must have independent work authorization in your current location.

Depending on your location, you may be engaged on agreement with either Internews US or Internews EU. If hired in the UK, the expected salary range for this role is £63,000 - 77,000 per annum.

DAY-TO-DAY TASKS will include:

  • Project Management for "One Internews", including a range of activities required to lead, coordinate, and support the implementation for the project, including requirements gathering, project planning, project budget management, execution, developing success measures and detailed milestones, project reporting, change managements, business process redesign, communications, training, and more;
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of our current organizational structures and operating models. work with an external expert on reviewing alternate structures and benchmarking best practices that are optimal and best suited for Internews;
  • Independently recommend restructure plans for departments, teams and coordinate organizational-wide fact-finding missions and listening tours;
  • Regularly report to COO on progress and share-out to executive team leadership;
  • Work across business administration departments for both Internews US and Internews Europe (Alliance wide) as well as regional programmatic teams and technical expertise areas to identify areas for simplification;
  • Review and simplify all Alliance agreements to ensure effectiveness and efficiency;
  • Work across the Alliance to identify and implement integration solutions in a manner than achieves consistency and standardization while enabling the customization that may be required for compliance with regional and country laws and regulations;
  • Develop and manage a project plan and timeline for reducing redundancies and optimizing efficiencies. Proactively track roll out of work and identify points of tension;
  • Identify key stakeholders across the organization for driving forward this work and report back to them on the development of projects;
  • Develop a communications plan to keep informed key individuals and teams on the development of this work. Work within Internews' internal communications structures to make sure all implementers of business administration and programmatic work are informed on process changes; and
  • In all duties, an understanding of and demonstrated commitment to upholding Internews' Core Values.
