The role
The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and London Borough of Wandsworth present a unique opportunity to support an apprenticeship position as a Community Health and Wellbeing Development Officer through a combination of academic study and work-based learning.
A key responsibility of this role will be to pursue a course of study for the Public Health (Integrated Degree) Level 6 Apprenticeship, offered by a suitable training provider, which is likely to be a university on a part-time basis commencing January 2022. You will spend at least 20% of your employed time completing training and learning activities to complete the Public Health (Integrated Degree) Level 6 Apprenticeship which is the standard required for registration as a Public Health Practitioner with the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR),
The role will support both councils to improve the health and wellbeing of the local populations of Richmond and Wandsworth. Our team covers programmes relating adults, older people, and prevention within our wider Public Health Team. We are a welcoming, with a learning approach. Within this role you will develop public health skills related to these areas, and a wide range of developmental opportunities is offered, that only a large organisation can provide.
We are looking for someone with energy and enthusiasm to be part of our team objective to achieve the best health outcomes for residents. The Community Health and Wellbeing Development Officer will have the opportunity to be involved in development and delivery of community action prevention and wellbeing projects and activity. The post holder will work with the local community to develop and deliver a range of health and wellbeing activities and prevention programmes based on evidence and community need.
In addition, we are looking for someone with excellent community engagement experience, motivation skills and communication skills. You will embrace diversity and be able to work and influence people from all walks of life.
