Description

Work in a place of outstanding natural beauty. Work in a place of national heritage importance. Work in a place where people are valued, respected and encouraged. Enjoy all of these benefits whilst delivering fantastic compliance and maintenance standards as our new Facilities Manager.

Job satisfaction will be high on your list of priorities if you’re considering working at Ickworth. We’re located just a few miles from both Bury St Edmunds and the A14. Travel is therefore quick and easy. The iconic Ickworth Rotunda is set in 1,800 acres of gardens and parkland and more than 250,000 visitors come to enjoy it every year.

Like the visitors, you’ll be able to appreciate and benefit from this stunning setting. The facilities team and the broader estate team are extremely strong and so you’ll be joining a group of people who are willing to support you, learn from you and deliver their very best.

For more information about our property please visitwww.nationaltrust.org.uk/ickworth or follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

As Facilities Manager you’ll be leading a team of three support staff who are experienced and eager to learn from their new manager. Your operation will be an active one, monitoring compliance, orchestrating works and delivering on projects. You’ll also have an office base from which to arrange contractors, track compliance and plan your team’s delivery. As part of the property team you’ll join the Property Leadership Team and report to our new General Manager. You’ll work closely with him to deliver both short-term requirements and long-term development plans. You’ll be accountable for the running of all aspects of facilities management, making sure we are safe and compliant.

We’d like you to have:

  • A strong understanding of the core principles and functions of facilities management and maintenance;
  • Excellent previous experience of broad compliance and risk management, including knowledge of Health & Safety, Emergency procedures and Fire & Security procedures;
  • Experience of working with contractors and your own facilities team to get the best value for Ickworth and the National Trust;
  • Outstanding communication, service and people skills;
  • Experience of managing budgets and delivering or managing projects;
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office;
  • A desire to make a difference, show initiative and contribute to the core values of the Trust.
