Description
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Project Manager to join the Centre for Genomic Pathogen Surveillance (CGPS) at the Big Data Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine. You will support the delivery of a 2-year UKRI training grant (40%) and provide project management support (60%) across multiple CGPS projects
As project manager, you will be a key member of the CGPS group with responsibility for leading the planning and coordination of projects with diverse funders and international partners delivering real-world impact in global health. This includes our expanding training and ‘Train the trainer’ programme in pathogen genomics and surveillance, as well as other impactful projects across our portfolio. As part of this role, you will work closely with the CGPS senior management team to establish effective project management approaches across our wider programme of work.
It is essential that you hold a degree, preferably within a Science or Managerial subject, along with demonstrable experience in managing large/complex projects and applying project management methodologies and tools to ensure successful delivery. You will be highly organised with the ability to manage complex information, prioritise workloads, and meet critical deadlines. A team player with excellent communication skills, you’ll bring experience of working with multiple stakeholders to effectively manage complex projects. As well as the ability to think critically and strategically to solve problems, it is crucial that you are passionate about the work of the CGPS.
