Description

Charity People is thrilled to be working with a fantastic mental health charity in their search for their new Head of Communications.

Their vision is clear: they want to see a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health. To achieve this, they work hard to provide support, as and when young people need it, by delivering three new, bold strategic programmes, aiming to stop an emerging mental health need becoming a crisis; by helping young people to look after their own mental health, making sure young people have adults around them who can help, and building a youth-led movement to make sure support is there for anyone who needs it. This is the charity's purpose, and they are clear in their approach of how to achieve their aims.

In post, you'll work directly with communications and campaigns, working to build and implement strategies on organisation-wide issues. You'll be tasked with:

* Promoting campaigns and messages, and will be working with the wider team to engage young people in your work
* This is a critical strategic role in the charity, and you will be at the helm, working to grow and enhance engagement with the charity's primary audiences
* You will lead and inspire a brilliant, growing team, enabling them to build on recent successes and continue to develop their talents
* You will lead the digital content and marketing functions, and be responsible for their strategic programme, making full use of digital innovation, including via the website and social channels, to reach young people with advice and support

Ideally, you will have: a strong understanding of digital methodologies, including agile product development, and have demonstrable experience in managing and developing a brand; the ability to write and edit outstanding copy for a range of audiences, including young people, and innovate and identify new, creative solutions to user needs, as well as being able to develop digital products, including those aimed at engaging a young audience. You will be able to lead, inspire and develop a team!

You must be self-motivated and have excellent personal time management, planning and organisational skills, and be proactive in your own professional development. And, most importantly, you will be passionate about the positive impact brand and marketing has on organisational success and have an understanding of and be sympathetic to the needs of young people.

Location: This is a hybrid, home- and office-based model; central office is in London, SE1 2ND

Salary: £48,600 - £54,000

Closing date: 7th December; applications will be considered on a rolling basis, so apply ASAP!
