Reunification Support Worker - Fostering Team (Temporary)
Job description
37 Hour per Week
Temporary up to 7 months
An exciting position has become available in Bridgend Fostering Team.
The role of a Reunification Worker is to undertake direct work with children who are looked after, their families and carers to:
Return to the care of their family where safe to do so
Support children and young people to transition between placements
Ensure the placements of children and young people are stable.
Reunification workers work as part of a multiagency team to support children and young people and are based within the Fostering Team in BCBC, who support both general and relative foster carers and special guardians. You will therefore have the benefit of working alongside experienced social workers.
You will also work closely with the social workers within the Care Experienced Team in BCBC, who support children who are looked after.
The Reunification team currently has 3 workers. The team meet regularly to review practice, development opportunities and seek to develop the service. The workers are able to use a range of approaches and tools to assist with their work and we constantly seek to review and refine the service.
Reunification workers have the opportunity to work creatively and flexibly to meet the needs of children and young people. This may involve utilising TOIL in order to provide support in the evening or at a weekend.
A range of training and development opportunities are available to enhance the ability of Reunification Workers to undertake work that is outcome focussed, strengths based and trauma informed. The Reunification Workers are trained to undertake Family Group Conferencing as part of rehabilitation planning for children and utilise Action Learning.
