SEN Teaching Assistant - Islington

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Islington, London

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract

Salary: £75 - £80 per day - salary dependent upon experience

Start Date: January 2022

A Primary School in Islington are looking for 2-3 1:1 SEN TA's to start in September. You will be working alongside a Teacher and one classroom TA.

You will be working 1:1 with children have autism with some being nonverbal and others still developing their language skills. There is some challenging behaviour with the children.

Role includes, but are not limited to:

• Working on a 1:1 basis with children who have Autism, Nonverbal and slight behaviour management problems
• Being proactive
• Personal care experience is ideal but not essential
• Carrying out interactive activities to help build their knowledge

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience and knowledge of SEN
• Patience, empathy, resilience and confidence
• Able to use your own initiative as well as being capable of following instructions from the Class Teacher
• Quick thinking and adaptable
• Willingness and dedication

Previous experience working with children with varying special educational needs within schools or a specialist SEN environment is preferable but not essential.
