Description

Our client is a highly respected independent charity, working across England and Wales to develop and deliver a range of innovative services. They provide practical and emotional support to prisoner’s children and families, to prisoners and those who have resettled back into the community. Their work is founded on core values, the first of which is a belief in the innate dignity of every human being, and their work focusses on human relationships, family, and community. They are committed to achieving high standards of quality in all that they do.

Position: Family Practitioner-CFO activity Hub
Location: Birmingham City Centre Hub
Contract Type: Fixed Term until August 2023
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 Hours /week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: £22,000 per annum

Closing date for applications: 21st December, 2021
Interview date: TBC

About the Role:

The Family Practitioner is responsible for delivering family and relationship-based interventions on both a 1-2-1 and groupwork basis in Activity Hubs working with people on licence post-release from prison or on community orders. The Family Practitioner is responsible for working towards service delivery targets and providing information to evidence delivery.

The person they’re looking for:

They’re looking to appoint someone with experience of supporting individuals with multiple and complex needs to overcome barriers, and therefore have an appreciation of safeguarding, personal safety and professional boundaries. Ideally you will also have interagency work experience (building partnerships, promoting positive relationships between different agencies, and developing new approaches to service delivery).

You will also be comfortable delivering support on a 1-2-1 basis in the community. You will be a self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritise your own work.

The successful candidate will have excellent listening skills, the ability to develop relationships with clients, volunteers, and other stakeholders, proven experience of achieving qualitative and quantitative targets, and an understanding of the criminal justice system.

Finally, you will understand the importance of tracking your activities, as the success of the service will be dependent on you delivering the contracted support time and interventions for the benefit of service users.

What they offer:

Our client offers a range of benefits including a free advice, information and counselling service, contributory pension, corporate eye care scheme, cycle to work scheme and generous holiday entitlement. You will have the opportunity to attend training events to further develop yourself as a professional training and interventions worker. You will undergo a thorough induction process and be supported by a friendly and enthusiastic team.
