Sledges Of Southampton is a small local removal company based in Shirley. We are currently looking to hire a new professional driver-porter due to an upturn in demand (You Must Have Held Your Current UK Driving Licence For At Least 12 months). You would be working various hours and days on a part-time self-employed basis. You could be working either locally or nationally moving people from their homes and offices. Ideally the right candidate will have some experience of house or commercial removals. You will be required to drive and pack the van along with your drivers mates safely and securely, preferably with a clean licence or nearly clean. Please note candidates must be over 25 years of age due to insurance restrictions. Also, if you are good at de-assembly that would be very desirable as some of our customers require a de-assembly service. Our rates of pay for driver-porters are either hourly or daily depending on the job and hours required. Starting pay for driver/porters is anything from £11 p.h to £13 p.h depending on experience and will rise once you have become a regular and reliable contractor. While working for us you will be expected to wear uniform and all tips will be split equally between the crew. Please note this position is most likely to suit someone who already has a part-time job and is looking for extra hours to suit.
