We're looking for a Project Officer to play a vital role in the development and delivery of a range of projects that will help fulfil the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (TVAONB) Management and Delivery Plans. Working closely with public, private and voluntary partners from a range of sectors including agriculture, forestry, wildlife, conservation, heritage, tourism, rural businesses, food and drink, renewable energy and education, etc, you will work closely with the the TVAONB manager, team and Partnership in implementing our ambitious Management Plan.

The postholder will engage local communities and stakeholders to encourage and enable participation and involvement in projects and programmes meeting local priorities. In particular relating to the AONB’s ‘Special Qualities’ for which it was designated, as including rare valley and water landscapes, unique wildlife resources, remarkable built heritage and historic environment, and a landscape of high visual quality with artistic and public appeal.

The postholder will also:

  • Develop landscape initiatives to support improved management and conservation of the AONB and its setting
  • Provide input and support to the TVAONB in developing and seeking new opportunities for projects and initiatives eligible for external project funding sources.
  • Contribute technical and practical support to a range of environmental, built heritage, arts, and volunteering/community initiatives and projects being delivered in the AONB.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to apply project development and delivery skills in environmental and landscape management, and to work in this special and protected landscape, playing a key role in the production and implemention of a long-term Management Plan for the TVAONB.
