Job Title: Business Development Director*

We are partnering with the Stop Domestic Abuse, a women’s led organisation offering services to women, children, young people and men affected by domestic abuse. Stop Domestic Abuse colleagues deliver services across Hampshire and Portsmouth. We are recruiting a Business Development Director to support the commercial growth through income generation and associated business development activity.

We are seeking a candidate to lead fundraising and income generating activities, new business initiatives, marketing and communications activities. We are seeking to appoint an experienced woman* to the Senior Management Team to play a crucial role in the development of the organisation. You’ll also have wider leadership responsibility, including oversight of IT, contracts, risk and office management.

In order to succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Significant fundraising, business development or commercial experience, with demonstrable success at forming and delivering against an income strategy
  • Experience of diversifying and building new income streams
  • Experience of managing bids to grants, trusts and major donors and tender for commissioned contracts
  • A successful track record of leading successful across business functions
  • Excellent budget management skills and the ability to work effectively with limited resources
  • Experience and confidence in managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Reporting to the CEO, you will be a natural leader, have clear commercial acumen with the ability to develop a strategy that incorporates a wide-ranging, diverse and sustainable set of funding streams.You will understand how to motivate and inspire a team as you build and develop the reach and income of the organisation.
