The starting salary for this role is £16,794 per annum, based on a 21.6 hour working week (pro rata to £27,991 FTE).

We currently have a part time vacancy for the role of Family Support Worker – MARAC- based in the East of the County on a 12-month fixed term contract, working three days per week – Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.

MARAC is a Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference and is a meeting where information is shared on the highest risk domestic abuse cases between representatives of local police, health, child protection, housing practitioners, Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs), probation and other specialists from the statutory and voluntary sectors

We are looking for individuals who have an awareness of domestic abuse and how it can impact on victims and their children and who want to ensure that they receive timely support. You will be working to support social workers in the early help, assessment team and Family Support teams to ensure that information regarding children open to them is recorded in a timely way on the MARAC database to ensure that informed discussions can be had at the MARAC meetings and that the multi-agency group can identify actions which will help to safeguard the victim and their children.

Key tasks of this role will be:

  • Review the information of the children that are being discussed at MARAC by reviewing the records on LCS and liaising with allocated Social Workers
  • Update the information on the MARAC recording system – MODUS
  • Attend the MARAC meeting and share the information gathered at the meeting
  • Record the action plan after the meeting on Surrey Children Services recording system
  • Follow up with the social work team that actions have been completed
  • Update the outcome of action on MODUS.

Surrey Children’s Service provides training to ensure competence and professional development. We will ensure that you receive a full induction and monthly supervision.
