Exeter School is the leading co-educational day school in the Southwest, educating over 940 pupils aged 7-18. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Lifeguard and Facilities Assistant will play a key role in ensuring that the school’s modern, 25m 4 lane swimming pool is used to maximum effect as well as assisting the Facilities team to support the needs of the school.

In general, the duties required of the post holder are to work as a lifeguard in the pool as well as assisting with cleaning, tidying, porterage and security as well as occasional school minibus driving duties.

The post-holder must be able to communicate effectively; understand the importance of health and safety procedures relevant to the job; be able to recognise and deal with emergency situations; and have a clean, current driving licence. Training will be provided in all aspects of the role where needed.

Specific qualifications, experience and/or training should be made clear on your application, and all will be advantageous in the application process. As important, however, is the desire to provide a high level of service to meet the school’s exacting standards.

This is a permanent, full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Some weekend and evening work is required for which overtime will be paid.

The role will attract a salary of £23,974 as well as generous benefits including a free school lunch during term time, an 8% employer contribution to the school’s approved pension scheme, free on-site parking (space dependent) and use of facilities including indoor swimming pool and fitness suite.
