Description

Role: Chief Financial Officer

Closing Date: The closing date for applications is 9:00am on the 15th of February 2022

Salary: Competitive

The Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Academy Trust is looking for a new Chief Financial Officer to support our Trust at a time of exciting change and challenge.

Currently, the Trust consists of four academies: one secondary and three primary schools, with a combined total of 1,900 children in our schools. The Trust’s budget is just under £10m. All four schools are Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’. All are ‘Outstanding’ schools in their most recent Catholic Schools’ Inspections.

We are a family of schools who are united by the teachings of Jesus Christ: to love, learn and achieve. Our Trust strives to be a Catholic community in which Catholic social teaching is at the forefront of what we do. The Christian principles of love, care and respect are valued. We commit to deliver the best education for all our pupils and by providing the necessary support, we will ensure each reach the dignity of their full potential.

As we embark on the next stage of our development, and as further schools have expressed an interest in joining the Trust, the Directors recognise that there is a need to evolve and strengthen.

The role requires strong financial acumen and the ability to prepare and maintain accurate monthly management accounts, annual budgets and all the statutory audit reports in accordance with DfE regulations, VAT accounting and payment, responsibilities to HMRC, pensions and other regulatory bodies.

Your central focus will be on financial issues and addressing the key priorities within the Trust. This will include taking the lead role on finance, putting systems into place and ensuring that all statutory accounts and returns are completed and submitted. We will then look to you to develop the operational side of the business, driving best practice through a range of areas including procurement, contract negotiations, estate management, tendering and joint ventures.

As an experienced financial professional with outstanding leadership skills and a track record of success at senior level, you should bring an enterprising approach to business development, strategy and partnerships.

We can offer you a rewarding future in a friendly and supportive environment, within a team of dedicated and talented staff who are committed to providing an outstanding Catholic education to all of the young people in our care.
