Description

MS Society

Chair, Board of Trustees

London

Unremunerated

We’re the MS Society – we’re the UK’s largest charity dedicated to multiple sclerosis. Our ultimate goal is to find treatments for everyone. Until then, we're working to make sure no one has to face MS alone. Everything we do is guided by people with MS. Because together, we're stronger.

Everyone living with MS, their family and friends has a unique MS story. We want to see a world free from the effects of MS, and our strategy, Every MS Story, sets out our bold and ambitious plans to get there. Listening to what matters most to our community is vital to the impact we deliver.

We are now looking for our next Chair to lead our Board of Trustees, building on the exceptional contribution our current Chair, Nick Winser, has made over the past 5 years. Having the leadership of a strong, effective and inclusive Board is fundamental to our success and our ability to drive our strategy and plans forward.

Our Chair will place integrity, commitment and a collaborative approach at the heart of their achievement at Board or senior executive level. Chair experience is essential, whether it is leading a Board or a major committee. Through your ability to form meaningful and impactful relationships, you will become an important and effective ambassador for our charity. With a strong empathy for and understanding of MS and the challenges faced by the MS community – ideally through a close personal association with MS or other neurological condition – you will be intellectually curious about, and inspired by, the work we do and our plans for the future. You will be experienced in leading others and will use those skills to help us achieve ambitious and positive outcomes for our community.
