About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual with a passion for, and experience of, providing specialist dementia care, to join our Admiral Nurse service as a Grade 8 / Band 6 Admiral Nurse to support families living with dementia across the London Borough of Sutton
Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who work with and support families and carers of people with dementia. Working collaboratively with other professionals, Admiral Nurses seek to improve the quality of life for people with dementia and their carers. They use a range of interventions including practical, clinical, emotional, and psychological support to help people live positively with the condition and develop skills to improve communication and maintain relationships.
In this specialist role you will act under the supervision of an Admiral Nurse Team Manager as an expert resource, providing advice on nursing care in relation to clinical interventions, policies, service development and delivery for individuals with dementia and their family carers.
Employed by Sutton Council, you will be supported by Dementia UK to maintain and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse through protected Practice and Professional Development and Clinical Supervision. You will become part of a network of Admiral Nurses and will have the opportunity to access relevant postgraduate courses and develop professionally, informed by the Admiral Nurse Competency Framework.

The Admiral Nurse Service in the London Borough of Sutton is a well established team. The service works collaboratively with community and acute services and contributes to the dementia pathway in Sutton.
About You
You will need to be a registered nurse with significant clinical experience of working with people and families living with dementia and a commitment to practising in a person and relationship-centred way.
