Description
Hull is a proud, ambitious, strongly independent and resilient city which has moved forward considerably in recent years in terms of perceptions and positive outcomes for our residents. These characteristics unite Hull City Council and all partners and strengthen our ability to push boundaries to improve our services through local, regional, national, and international collaborations. Our clear vision is for continued fair, inclusive economic growth that will benefit all our residents and businesses and for continual innovation and improvement.
Over the last few years, we have implemented a new Adult Social Care operating model which supports people to have ‘A life and not a life in service’. This model, underpinned by our innovative ‘place-based’ arrangements for the integration of health and social care commissioning, and our award-winning integrated health and social care services, is now well embedded. The strong relationships and partnerships we have developed across health and social care also mean we are very well placed as we move towards Integrated Care Systems and the new ‘place-based’ arrangements these will bring.
We are now seeking to recruit an exceptional transformational leader to build on our existing success and lead us through the next phase in our continuous improvement journey.
The successful candidate will need to be able to evidence success in health and social care commissioning and have extensive experience at a senior level within social care of both strategic and operational leadership, including having a strong track record of delivering continuous improvement. You will identify, lead and commission strategies to deliver the Local Authority’s and Government’s vision and priorities for social care and, through thinking innovatively and conceptually, and with the ability to understand the “bigger picture in context”, lead on the formulation and delivery of key objectives and policies.
Significant experience of developing and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with private and public sector organisations, including housing associations, primary care networks, community, voluntary groups and other stakeholders, to drive improvements in service delivery is crucial.
Experience of working at a regional level will also be beneficial, reflecting Hull City Council’s commitment and significant contribution to the group of Yorkshire and Humber Statutory Directors.
