Description

Salary: Grade I (£39,739 - £50,296 p.a.)

School/Section: Nottingham Business School

We are deeply proud of our academic community. Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is a diverse and dynamic learning environment, defined by a shared sense of respect for all its people. Our mission is to be bold, to do the right things and to change lives, and our academics are key to realising those goals. Their work continues to reinforce our credentials as an award-winning university, and a research centre of excellence.

Our continued success — underpinned by the number of prestigious national awards we’ve won — has hinged on two commitments: forging excellent partnerships around the world and harnessing the talents of all our people. We secured a ‘Gold’ rating in the government’s Teaching Excellence Framework; received the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for our pioneering research; and in 2018, we were the first UK university to sign the Social Mobility Pledge, further demonstrating our commitment to ensuring ‘success for all’. NTU is a university at the peak of its powers, but we know we can still go even further. That’s why we’re now looking for new, passionate, ambitious people to join our community.

Nottingham Business School (NBS) at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is internationally recognised as one of the world’s leading business schools, providing education and research that combines academic excellence with impact on business and society. NBS is quadruple crown+ school by (EQUIS, AACSB, SBC, and EFMD Accreditation) as well as being a UN’s PRME Champion.

The accreditation bodies recognise NBS as the leaders in personalisation of education, experiential learning, high impact research, sustainability, and connectivity to business.

In all our work we aim to combine excellence in research, education and external engagement and deliver a positive impact on people, business and society.

NBS is a place for well-rounded academics who care deeply about making a positive difference, are provided with the support to develop their ideas, work with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and excel in brining innovations that keep NBS as a leading force in business, management and economics research and education.

The Centre for Finance, Technology and Society (CFTS) is a new research centre launched by Nottingham Business School following a significant strategic investment by the University. CFTS aims to carry out cutting edge academic research and collaborate with organisations in the Fintech and financial sector to inform policy, practice and wider debates. The Centre aims to research current and emerging innovations in financial services facilitated by digital technologies, big data and AI, including Open, Decentralised, and Crypto Finance. CFTS will also focus on the rapid and transformative effect of financial innovation and related developments on the competitive environment in banking and financial services, on service delivery, supplier-customer relationships and the attitudes and behaviours of consumers. The Centre will harness its academic capabilities and its network of industry partners in interrogating these questions and will disseminate its research findings across academic, business and policymaking communities.

We are looking for well-rounded academics who will excel in contributing to the mission of CFTS in terms of producing excellent and rigorous research and in both informing and being informed by contemporary practice. Given the focus of the CFTS, such research is likely to be primarily rooted in quantitative methodologies. We are looking for team players who have a positive attitude, and who wish to be part of a forward-looking Department, a great business school community, and a caring University that prides itself on being an inclusive employer that has a strong reputation for supporting the development of colleagues and their potential.
