Description

Student Community Manager

Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent

Based central Reading, Berkshire / remote (hybrid working available)

Salary up to £30,000 FTE pa plus benefits

**We are looking for an energetic self starter to help develop our student community**

University College of Estate Management (UCEM) is long-standing and leading provider of supported online education. We exist to provide accessible, relevant and cost-effective education which enhances careers, increases professionalism and leads to a better Built Environment; we are also very passionate about sustainability. Operating from the UK and Hong Kong we have a global reach, and at any one time over 3,500 students are studying online with us. UCEM passed its first ever inspection by Ofsted with flying colours after earning an overall rating of ‘Good’ in November 2021.

This is a brand new role in the wider Student Services team and a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a UCEM student community! You will drive high-quality and high-impact projects to enhance the student experience, maximise student satisfaction, and promote student achievement. Using your excellent communication and analytical skills, you will work with students and staff to support the development and delivery of an effective and dynamic student community strategy.

This will be a varied role, working with multiple stakeholders to deliver first class digital communications; develop inclusive and well-managed information and activities to meet the needs of all UCEM’s communities; and measure the impact of the team’s work.

Your key responsibilities will centre around:

  • Lead the development of a student communications strategy
  • Develop action plans in response to internal and external student experience surveys.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the wider team, providing proactive and professional leadership to ensure delivery excellence for all students and staff.
  • Provide students with appropriate signposting to information and support services through the development of a Student Handbook.
  • Lead the development of a vibrant student community engagement strategy which continuously improves and enhances UCEM’s NSS, SES and ESFA survey results.
  • Line manage the Student Community Officer and the Lead Student Representative.

A background in student engagement and/or project management is desirable but not essential for success in this role.

At UCEM we expect employees to demonstrate our values: Passion, Integrity, Excellence and Support. Student satisfaction and success are our main drivers and our people consistently report high levels of employee satisfaction; your contribution will be valued, should you join us.
