Description

ABOUT US

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity. We want to see a world where trees and woods thrive for people and nature. The Trust engages and inspires people to make their difference tackling the nature and climate crisis helping protect, restore and create our vital woods and trees.

THE ROLE

The IT Purchasing Coordinator will ensure that there is a consistent approach to order, financial and contract lifecycle management across all Digital Enablement’s non-staffing budgets and those associated activities are fully compliant with the Trust’s procurement and financial policies and procedures.

THE CANDIDATE

You will have existing experience within procurement and be qualified to A-Level standard or Level 4 equivalent, as well as holding CIPS qualification up to Level 3. If not, you will be working towards this and be able to demonstrate clear and demonstrable knowledge and experience of what this entails. Best practice will be second nature to you and you will thrive in a collaborative working environment.

Your experience will comprise purchasing IT goods and services and dealing with suppliers. This will mean maintaining and analysing accurate financial records and document repositories, raising POs and monitoring deliverables. You will have significant experience of using Excel in a similar role.

You will be proactive in the role with outstanding communication skills that allow you to communicate effectively with stakeholders from a broad range of departments within The Trust.

WHAT TO EXPECT BY JOINING A TEAM AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE

There’s no other organisation like the Woodland Trust. Joining the team you will be making your contribution to tackling the nature and climate crisis. In return, we recognise and value our people. You'll have our full support, training and opportunities for professional development, along with a contributory pension, life assurance, good holiday allowance and the opportunity to work flexibly from home.

OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

At the Woodland Trust, we believe everyone deserves to have their lives enriched by trees and woods.

We believe that all people, no matter their background, identity, ability or circumstance, should benefit from trees. We believe everyone deserves equal protection from climate change. Equal air, water and soil quality. Equal opportunity to feel the positive impact of trees and woods on our minds, bodies and spirits.

We also believe our own organisation should reflect and represent all voices within our communities and recognise that the environmental sector as a whole is one of the least ethnically diverse in the UK.

But we are determined to change this and we are taking action. At the Woodland Trust we encourage applications that reflect the richness of human diversity and promise the onlything we assess within your application is how you have demonstrated your suitability for the job, and nothing else.
