Description

Digital Engagement Manager (Two Year FTC)

Based in London SW8 with scope for home and flexible working

Fixed-term contract for two years

Full-time, 35 hours per week

£33,000 per year

Our client is on a mission to give children and young people from disadvantaged communities the reading and writing skills to succeed in life. You could join them as Digital Engagement Manager for local and national campaigns.

What you’ll be doing

Our client targets their work in the communities that need it most, working with local partners to create better life chances for young people through system and behaviour change.

You will be responsible for supporting the planning, activation and performance of

digital campaigns and delivery in these targeted areas. You will support strategic campaign development, manage tactical day-to-day deliverables and oversee the rollout of behaviour change campaigns across online communities.

Based in the Digital Team, you will work closely with colleagues across the marketing and communications directorate, including web, content and social media, as well as those leading and delivering local community programmes around the UK.

What our client is looking for

You will be a creative and analytical digital professional, with experience developing and delivering high impact campaigns and engagement strategies. This should include multichannel campaign execution and optimisation across web, email and social media.

You will need the knowledge and confidence to be a trusted and engaging internal leader, providing advice to teams across the charity on digital strategy and delivery. You will also need excellent copywriting and content development skills and an understanding of current and future digital trends to support audience engagement planning.

Why our client’s work is so vital

Poor reading and writing skills and resulting inequality is not inevitable. Our client improves the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills of those who need it most, giving them the best possible chance of success.

They make society fairer as poor skills create social and economic inequality. The one in six adults in the UK with poor reading and writing skills earn less, are less likely to vote and more likely to experience health inequalities.

Our client enables social mobility. A child without reading and writing skills can’t succeed at school, and as an adult they will be locked out of the job market. The pattern is intergenerational and starts at birth.

Their work is targeted at communities with the highest levels of disadvantage and the lowest levels of literacy. They support thousands of schools and early years settings, bringing in wonderful partners and the nation’s best publishers who bring literacy alive. They campaign to make literacy a priority for the nation’s leaders. Their research and analysis make them the leading authority in this area and drive their interventions.
