Description

Chief Executive

About Us:

Active Oxfordshire are one of the national network of Active Partnerships operating across England. We are passionate about finding sustainable approaches to fighting inactivity and challenging health inequalities. We do this by working with local partners (Local Authorities, Education, Health, the voluntary sector and the business community) and national organisations including Sport England. Our aim is to make sure every adult and child in Oxfordshire has an equal chance of an active life.

Active Oxfordshire has just secured a 5 year funding agreement with Sport England as a system partner. We have an Operational Plan in place for 22/23 and a strong team working to agreed strategic priorities around young people/families; healthy place shaping and health for life. We are in the process of co-designing a new Collective Framework for Physical Activity and Well-Being in the County as we strive to create a movement of movement over the next 6 months.

The role:
The Chief Executive will lead and shape the strategic direction of Active Oxfordshire so we are seeking a dynamic Chief Executive with the drive, energy and ambition to lead our organisation into the next phase of its evolution.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a lasting difference and is open to working innovatively and collaboratively to drive Active Oxfordshire forward. We are looking for the right person to shape the future direction of the organisation and make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of people in Oxfordshire.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will have experience navigating complex organisations and exceptional leadership and advocacy skills to bring together organisations around a shared ambition to improve the lives of people in the county by reducing inactivity. A passion for physical activity and sport is key, as is a proven ability to build and manage a high performing team.

Experience of building partnerships and with the ability to develop business cases based on strategic and commercial reasoning, the Chief Executive will represent the organisation to the outside world. Therefore, you must be comfortable working with the media and have exceptional public speaking skills.
