Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a solution-focused leader to manage our York-based Development Advice Team. You will help to shape our historic places, from high streets to henges and mill towns to battlefields. No day will be the same, but every day will be stimulating and rewarding.

What you will be doing

You will lead the team`s provision of pre- and post-application advice to help people sustain the significance of historic places, ensuring the team engages when we can add most public value. You will also support other work objectives, such as our Heritage Action Zones programme. You will play a key role on our Leadership Team, which manages our 60 staff across the North East and Yorkshire.

What we are looking for

-To be successful in this role, you will have an excellent track record in leading and performance managing a dynamic and multi-skilled team.
-You will be an inspiring communicator who is able to use their negotiating and influencing skills to drive positive outcomes and sustain constructive relationships with external stakeholders such as local authorities, owners and developers.
- As a member of the Region`s Leadership Team, you will require strong team working skills in collaborative and creative problem solving.
- You should have broad and extensive experience of managing change to heritage assets through the planning system, including new development in historic places.

This is a permanent opportunity based in our York office. We are also open to hybrid working where you will be based in both the office and home.
