Academics are looking for an experienced, resilient Cover Supervisor to work in an SEMH School in Basingstoke. This is to start ASAP, full-time, on-going.

The school caters for pupils aged 11 to 16 years old (boys and girls) with social, emotional and mental health needs and other complex needs such as autism.

The lessons are usually provided by the teacher. You will be expected to:

• Manage the class - keep the engaged, on task and manage the behaviour in the classroom
• Be responsible for the delivery of the cover lesson work as supplied by the class teacher. If work is not set by the teacher, you will be required to plan lessons or activities to keep the pupils engaged
• Provide feedback on cover work and behaviour of students.

You will be required to respond to pupil's general questions but will not be expected to undertake any planning, preparation, delivery or assessment of pupils' progress and/or development. It is important that you ensure the good behaviour of the pupils and make sure the pupils engage in the learning activity.

To be considered for Cover Supervisor work, you will have experience of working in schools, in a teaching or supporting role, possess good numeracy/literacy skills and have the confidence and ability to manage challenging behaviour.
