Wellcome is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.
We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate.
These challenges need the bold research our funding supports, but they won't be solved by science alone. We are looking for a People Team Officer to provide high quality assistance to People Leadership Team (PLT) members with diary and meeting management relating to the delivery of our strategic priorities, planning and responding to internal and external People priorities and proactively managing People Team compliance and emergency management requirements e.g. GDPR, Business Continuity Planning.
The People Strategy and Transformation (PS&T) team enable the organisation to connect so that; complex, organisational wide People projects and business as usual operations are implemented effectively; reflecting lessons we've learned from past initiatives. We work in partnership with the Wellcome Programme Management Office, Corporate Affairs and the staff networks. We develop, align and translate our People Strategy to enable the Wellcome Strategy.
In this role you will
Support specific People Leadership Team (PLT) members with diary, meeting and task management as required and provide cover for the Executive Assistant to Director of People as required.
Ensure the People Team is clear about its roles and responsibilities; enable the People Team to maintain positive wellbeing and an inclusive culture that learns from our experiences and celebrates our successes.
Support the People Team to communicate effectively within the Team and across Wellcome on people matters (ensuring this is coordinated with communications from our project teams and Internal Communications); as well with tracking and reporting on the People Team's: KPIs, PLT and ELT objectives, Annual Delivery Plan; identifying and implementing process improvements where feasible.
Enable effective PLT relationships with the staff networks so we are clear on how engaged our employees are on Welcome's people objectives.
Create and maintain People Team ways of working so that we understand, value and make we compliant with best practices (e.g. GDPR, legal requirements, procurement category planning).
Develop and maintain an effective Business Continuity Plan for the People Team (including rehearsals of our plans and the responsibility to eliminate single points of failure in our teams).
To be successful in this role you will have
Administration, organisation and diary management skills, some previous experience would be desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication - this include writing and reviewing internal communication (email, reports and updates, intranet articles) and creating and delivering project-based presentations as required
Attention to detail - accuracy
Problem Solver, adaptable and flexible
Salary: £ 30,352
