Description
The Organisation
ImpactEd is an award-winning social enterprise that exists to help evaluate, understand and improve impact in education. In our education system, we invest huge amounts of time, money and energy in different programmes and interventions to improve outcomes for pupils. Yet far too often, we don’t know what is working – and what isn’t. We exist to address this evaluation deficit, helping schools and those working with them to better understand what is working to make a difference to the lives of young people. We do this through a combination of hands-on partnership, training and consultancy, and our digital platform which makes monitoring and evaluation quicker, easier and more effective.
Since being founded in 2017, we have grown rapidly. In 2018, we won the Teach First Innovation Award; in 2019, our work was profiled by the Department for Education and we were finalists in the Education Resources Awards; and in 2020, we published the largest pupil-facing piece of research into the impact of lockdown on pupil learning and wellbeing (Lockdown Lessons). We now reach over 150,000 young people in over 600 schools through the ImpactEd platform, and partner with over 50 education organisations. We are a small, dedicated, and growing team committed to maximising social impact: a mix of former teachers, academic researchers and software developers, our work is overseen by a Board with significant experience of social entrepreneurship, third sector leadership and educational improvement.
The Opportunity
Our School Partnerships Team works with over 250 schools, either directly or as part of a broader partnership with a Multi-Academy Trust, Local Education Authority, or other school group. This role is a new opportunity to support the team as it continues to grow and work towards its strategic goal of having systemic impact for young people.
Having grown significantly in recent months, we are looking for a candidate to work alongside our school partnerships managers and officers as they deliver high quality partnerships for our schools. Primarily, this role will involve supporting the team with writing high quality impact reports for our school partners. These reports typically involve a mixture of qualitative and quantitative data collation and analysis, and are the core visual representation of the work that we do to support schools.
Alongside report writing, the role will involve support with delivery of other elements of our partnership cycle, such as setting up schools on the ImpactEd platform, helping to further develop our CRM, and, over time, supporting workshops and meetings with external partners. You will also have the chance to contribute to our latest national research series, Impact in Practice.
We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others:
Experience of simple data analysis and report writing
Understanding and experience of the UK education system (preferred)
Experience of working with an administrative role
Track record of effective process and project management
As well as this, you are likely to be most successful in the role if you:
Have exceptional attention to detail and enjoy setting up and working to clear processes
Communicate clearly and persuasively, both written and verbally
Are detail-oriented, analytical and happy to spend time reviewing research literature or scrutinising data
Share our intellectual curiosity and desire to learn rapidly
