Group Managers - Adults Services

Salaries £54,926 to £71,781

Location: Nottingham

Social care in Nottinghamshire is on a journey and we are seeking two motivated leaders to join us.

Over the last two years, in response to the Covid pandemic and workforce pressures, adult social care and health rapidly needed to implement flexible emergency response models. The social care landscape continues to change. Our aim is to equip our teams to be agile and autonomous in the way we deliver social care into the future, to build on and grow our caring and empowering, high trust, high performance culture. Our aim is that people will live longer and healthier lives in safe and flourishing communities. We are looking for people with energy and ideas to reshape how we support people to have a good life, and not just receive services.

We are seeking system leaders who are skilled at integrated working with partner agencies and who understand the value of co-producing our support offer at all levels with individuals, carers and their families. Both roles require people who want to improve and re-imagine services, with proven experience of taking people through significant change successfully.

As the Group Manager – Adult Safeguarding (£54,926 up to £60,932, Hay Band F) you will be responsible for adult social care staff in the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub, as well as a small Strategic Safeguarding Team that support Nottinghamshire’s Strategic Safeguarding Board with the development and delivery of its plan. You will lead on quality assurance of adult safeguarding across the department, ensuring safeguarding is person led, outcome focused and high-quality. The successful candidate will have expertise, detailed knowledge and a passion for safeguarding; ready to take on responsibility for implementing the recommendations of the department’s recent departmental safeguarding review.

As the Group Manager – Ageing Well Community Teams South (£63,887 up to £71,781, Hay Band G) you will spearhead our commitment to improving the lives of older people. You will be managing teams of social workers and occupational therapists aligned with Primary Care Networks, developing multi-disciplinary working and local community assets. You will have a lead role growing our Ageing Well Innovation Sites to develop new ways of working and lead our strength-based approaches and community transformation programme with our partners.

We are seeking creative, resilient, team players who can work at pace across the health and social care system. You will be a confident and supportive leader who is committed to coaching, mentoring and developing teams to own and drive their own performance.

If you are ready for a new opportunity, Nottinghamshire has a lot to offer you in terms of your skills, learning and career development. It is also a beautiful and varied County to work in, blending diverse rurality and large urban areas, a place of contrasts with beautiful open spaces and areas of more and less advantage.

The successful candidates will need to be visible senior leaders across all the Department’s and Council’s services. The Department is moving back to face-to-face working, focusing on where this has benefits of being more effective, for example, for team meetings, supervisions, visits to teams and services etc. The Council also has flexible remote working equipment, providing options to effectively manage your time and supplement face-to-face working.
