Admin Assistant - Bookkeeper
Our client is the largest network of accountants in the UK, currently working from over 300 locations, they focus their accountancy skills specifically on small businesses and taxpayers needing a tax return in the UK. They specialise in providing accountancy services, tax returns, payroll, bookkeeping, tax savings and tax advice to small businesses. They have 80,000 clients including Sole Traders, Partnerships, Limited Companies and Personal Taxpayers.
There are two offices in Leeds which have been operating for 23 years. They have established processes in place, along with access to excellent ongoing training and technical support in all aspects of the role. They have a heavy focus on technology using a number of apps and cloud based software.
Currently they are looking for an Admin Assistant - Bookkeeper to provide administrative support within the two practices in Horsforth and Pudsey, North Leeds.
The role includes helping to complete the admin side of onboarding clients, chasing clients when work is due and managing records coming into the practice. You should be able to work flexibly, in a rapidly developing office environment. It may be necessary to assist other staff from time to time.
The Role
The key duties of the post are:
- Answer all telephone calls and reception enquiries in a timely, courteous and efficient manner.
- Accurately log information on all calls received.
- Communicate verbally and in writing between clients/visitors/enquirers and staff.
- Interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person and to verbal or written instructions.
- Manage, organise and update relevant data using various software applications.
- Help to onboard new clients by preparing relevant online forms and arranging meetings.
- Diary management for the director and practice accountants.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.
- Maintain a consistent and professional approach towards attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.
- General bookkeeping duties to include: processing sales invoices, receipts and payments.
- Logging in records received from clients and checking the information is relevant and complete.
- Plus other duties consistent with the grade as directed.
