Do you want to make a difference to the lives of our target families?

This is an exciting position creating learning opportunities that improve and develop the skills of parents and carers so they can better support their child’s learning and development at home.

We are looking to appoint a driven and enthusiastic Assistant Curriculum Manager to be part of our Surrey Adult Learning Family Learning team who will contribute to the continued successful development of our part-time courses and assist with the further development of remote learning and our return to face to face delivery. The post holder must have an appropriate adult teaching certificate or equivalent and experience working with adults.

The role includes supporting, managing and inspiring tutors to deliver a high-quality programme to Ofsted standards and working in line with local and national agendas. You will also build new partnerships and work with our existing partners to ensure we are meeting the needs of Surrey families.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced adult learning professional who will be able to:

  • Mentor and support tutors to further develop a broad course offer guided by the curriculum intent, to develop the knowledge and skills of the parent/carers
  • Further develop partnership working as this is key to successfully setting up courses and engaging with learners, families, and communities
  • Support tutors to improve their practice through developmental observations of teaching, learning and assessment and by implementing methods to share good practice and promote continuous staff development
  • Develop, plan and manage a mixed remote and face-to-face delivery programme with schools and family centres.
  • Demonstrate experience of successfully working within an Ofsted Inspection Framework to ensure a high standard of provision and care for learners
  • Show the ability to prioritise and plan to meet objectives including continuous quality improvement
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and IT skills.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:

  • A teaching qualification, relevant experience of teaching adults and of a formal observation process aligned to an Ofsted inspection framework
  • Experience of using your initiative, prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines
  • The ability to be innovative, responsive and develop relevant curricula that have suitable breadth, depth and relevance to meet the changing needs and interests of learners and address local and commercial priorities
  • A proven track record that shows that you can build partnerships and plan strategically
  • Experience of successfully working within an Ofsted inspection framework to ensure a high standard of provision and care for learners
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and IT skills.

Although this post will be based at our Camberley Adult Learning Centre, travel within Surrey to our other centres, course venues and partners will be a necessity, so the post- holder will be a required car user. There will be occasional evening and weekend work.
