Description
Relationship Manager, Engagement and Audiences
Contract: Permanent, working 35 hours per week
Salary: £32,615 per annum
Location: Cambridge
We are on a mission to make sure that the arts and cultural activities we fund are inclusive and that everyone in England has the chance to lead creative and cultural lives no matter what their background. Music, theatre, galleries, dance, literature, museums, libraries – it’s about access to all of these and more. Can you help us?
You will be passionate and knowledgeable about audience development and engagement in the arts and cultural sector, with experience of working in one or more of the artforms or disciplines we fund. You will excel at building relationships and be good at influencing people at all levels.
You will give funding advice to individuals and organisations, about Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants and other funds. Through this work you will help to improve the reach of the projects we fund. Internally, you will work with and support a wide range of colleagues, sharing your knowledge and expertise of audience development and engagement. You will support our decision-making processes, writing assessments and being on funding panels.
You will be part of a place team, building your local knowledge and relationships in a specific place in order to increase funding and access to culture. You will support and monitor a small number of Creative People and Places projects and organisations which we fund. You will need an understanding of how arts and cultural organisations are run, including planning, financial reporting, performance management and governance.
This role will work across the East of England, based in the Cambridge office. Interviews will be held remotely. This is an excellent opportunity to join Arts Council England and to develop a broad and strategic perspective of the arts and culture sector.
Disabled, D/deaf and/or neurodivergent people, those from Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse backgrounds and people under 30 are under-represented in our workforce so we particularly encourage applications from people in these groups.
