Secondary SEN Teacher – Richmond upon Thames – September 2022

A day special academy (SEN school) for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, are searching for a Secondary SEN Teacher, to join their team from September 2022.

As a Secondary SEN Teacher, you will be joining a team that provides the best education and pastoral care to ensure that the SEN school is a place of learning for everyone. All pupils are supported and challenged to achieve their full potential in their academic, social, creative, personal, physical and moral development. In your role as a Secondary SEN Teacher, you will support pupils to grow in confidence and become as independent as possible. You will encourage pupils to make a positive contribution to the school and the wider community, in which they are valued as individuals.

• Focus on children with moderate learning difficulties and additional complex needs including Autism
• Delivering creative and engaging SEN lessons throughout
• Adapting and differentiating the curriculum for learners with SEN
• September 2022 start – Permanent contract
• Outer London pay scale MPS 1 – UPS 3 + SEN allowance
• Located in London Borough of Richmond upon Thames

Person Specification – Secondary SEN Teacher
• MUST HAVE UK QTS
• Good academics required - GCSEs, A Levels and Degree
• Strong understanding of the SEN curriculum & teaching standards
• Proven record of good / outstanding feedback from lesson observations / performance management
• Articulate, creative and dedicated to supporting children with SEN
• Passionate, positive & team player required
• Confident & strong classroom management skills
• Enthusiastic and committed to teaching children with SEN
