**A great opportunity for someone to take their first step in a finance career!**

University College of Estate Management (UCEM) is long-standing and leading provider of supported online education. We exist to provide accessible, relevant and cost-effective education which enhances careers, increases professionalism and leads to a better Built Environment; we are also very passionate about sustainability. Operating from the UK and Hong Kong we have a global reach, and at any one time over 3,500 students are studying online with us. UCEM passed its first ever inspection by Ofsted with flying colours after earning an overall rating of ‘Good’ in November 2021.

We are looking for a motivated self-starter to join our friendly and supportive Finance team as a Finance Assistant Apprentice. This role is an apprenticeship, and the successful candidate will have their studies fully supported by UCEM. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who would like to start their career in finance and build up their knowledge and skills while working towards their AAT qualifications (levels 2, 3 & 4).

As you progress through your studies and your knowledge and experience grows, you will get the opportunity to learn and take on more complex accounting disciplines.

Your key responsibilities will centre around:

  • Accounts payable operations including processing supplier invoices and supporting on payment runs Undertake routine credit control processes for overdue student and sponsor debt Assisting with month end procedures including bank reconciliations, sales and purchase ledger, aged debtors and creditors reconciliation Responding to internal and external queries Processing of Employee expenses

This is a junior entry-level accounting role and whilst experience is desirable, it is not essential.

At UCEM we expect employees to demonstrate our values: Passion, Integrity, Excellence and Support. Student satisfaction and success are our main drivers and our people consistently report high levels of employee satisfaction; your contribution will be valued, should you join us.
