Description

Individual Giving Officer

The charities vision is a world where people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to, and included. You will be at the heart of delivering that vision as part of the charities Individual Giving team.

We are recruiting for an Individual Giving Officer to join the charities established Fundraising Team. This is a full-time (37.5 hrs per week), permanent role with the option of working flexibly between your home and the London office, located near Old Street.

Your enthusiasm, expertise, and fundraising experience (ideally within direct marketing) will ensure that you manage and deliver engaging communications (online and offline) to grow and retain their supporter base, to ultimately support people with a learning disability.

As an ambitious, creative and highly motivated fundraiser, this role will enable you to develop your career as it spans a wide range of activity and encourages innovation.

The charity value a diverse and inclusive workplace and we intentionally plan for the success of their colleagues in everything they do. They welcome applications from everyone, so come as you are and join us.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Project manage a variety of retention and acquisition direct marketing campaigns, across cause-led and prize-led activities, and across a variety of channels including (but not limited to) direct mail, email, digital (including paid social) and DRTV. Ensuring campaigns are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Produce data, comms and supporter care briefs in-line with team budget and strategy for all own campaigns.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues from other directorates to ensure fundraising is understood and reflected in delivery and project implementation.
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, to ensure successful delivery of campaigns.
  • Consider and be an ambassador for equality, diversity, and inclusion, within both Mencap as an organisation, and in your campaigns.
  • Continuously monitor campaign results, and frequently report on campaign performance. Identify risks, opportunities and make recommendations for future activity based on results and market trends.
  • Adopt a ‘test and learn’ approach to all activity, with a focus on constant refinement and optimisation.
  • Support the Individual Giving team to develop a high-quality supporter experience for donors and prospects, suggesting and implementing ideas for an inspiring and empowering supporter journey.
  • Support the Individual Giving Manager and Individual Giving Lead to develop and maintain the operational delivery of financial and non-financial divisional targets for Individual Giving products.
  • Use data and insight to improve Individual Giving activity, and to broaden and diversify Mencap’s audience reach.

Come and join the charity at this exciting time of growth and development! Please apply with an up-to-date CV.

We are proud to be a Disability Confident Leader and welcome applicants with disabilities to apply for all roles. To find out more about the scheme please visit the direct gov website.
