Our client is the largest network of accountants, currently working from over 300 locations throughout the UK, who focus their accountancy skills specifically on small businesses and taxpayers needing a tax return in the UK. They specialise in providing accountancy services, tax returns, payroll, bookkeeping, tax savings and tax advice to small businesses. They have 80,000 clients including Sole Traders, Partnerships, Limited Companies and Personal Taxpayers.

A vacancy has arisen for an Administrator to provide reception and administrative support to all staff within their busy office in Horfield, Bristol. The post holder will be required to work flexibly, in a rapidly developing office environment.

The Job

The key duties of the post are:

  • To act as the first point of call for new and existing clients, both in person and over the telephone.
  • Answer all telephone calls and reception enquiries in a timely, courteous and efficient manner and accurately log information on all calls received.
  • To deal with post as appropriate.
  • Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between clients/visitors/enquirers and staff and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.
  • Take overall responsibility for the meeting diary, making and accurately recording client appointments.
  • Manage, organise and update relevant data using database applications.
  • Set up and maintain filing systems as and when required as works progress.
  • Typing – Word processing and Excel skills for general preparation of letters/forms that the Manager will require.
  • Arrange meetings, book and prepare meeting rooms and provide/arrange hospitality.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.
  • Other routine clerical tasks as assigned.
