About the role
Our Test Practice within Technical Solutions is experiencing continuous success and growth. As part of this growth, we are seeking to recruit experienced Data engineering and analytics testers to provide QA support for testing data platforms for various clients.
Core role specific requirements:
Understanding of Data-warehousing, Data Marts, Data Lakes, Big Data and BI platforms.
Experience in or knowledge of transformation rules, mappings, and Data modelling.
SQL scripting skills (TSQL and/or PL/SQL), including query optimization.
Awareness of GDPR guidelines and its impact on testing strategy.
Worked on any of the cloud data environment - Azure/AWS/GCP
Understanding of ETL technologies (Infrastructure, architecture, performance tuning, ETL, Monitoring and troubleshooting understanding).
Hands-on experience with Unix, SQL.
Hands-on experience with Python is preferred but not mandatory.
Worked on any of the listed ETL - Informatica, Ab-initio, MuleSoft, Alteryx, SSIS, Talend, IBM infosphere DataStage.
Worked on any of the listed Data warehouse systems (preferably cloud version) - Snowflake, Amazon redshift, Google Big Query, Synapse Analytics, Microsoft SQL server, Teradata.
Experience of working on any of the big data systems like Hadoop Spark / Azure Databricks.
Working experience on data lakes.
Worked on any of the listed reporting solutions - Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau, SAP business objects, Amazon Quick sight, SSRS, Data studio.
Understanding of one of the OLAP systems.
Each project is different, but typically you can expect to be working on the following:
Requirements analysis and validation using static testing techniques across both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Definition of standard and lean test documentation for projects undertaken.
Ensuring requirements traceability
Introducing/suggesting new processes and techniques
Accurate recording and monitoring of issues
Reviewing test environments configuration and processes to facilitate continuous improvement and maintenance of quality standards
Creating test plans, cases, and scripts based on business requirements and technical specifications
