Description

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, we are seeking a Chief Executive Officer who will have overall strategic and fundraising responsibility for POW Nottingham. The role requires the successful candidate to lead and manage a small organisation which has big ambitions. As CEO you will be responsible for delivering the organisation's business plan and ensuring that POW has the funding and profile to be successful in the present environment.

Our Vision: Empowering sex workers and vulnerable exploited people so they can be safe, secure and have choice.

Our Aims:

  • Inclusive – to be supportive and open to all.
  • Trusted – to provide non-judgemental and professional support.
  • Responsive – to deliver tailored support based upon each individual’s needs.
  • Vocal – to advocate for and raise awareness of issues for sex workers, and those that are at risk of exploitation.

We are specialists in working with individuals with complex needs and understand the exploitative and precarious conditions the large majority of sex workers are forced to live in. We have supported sex workers, and those at risk of exploitation for over 30 years, developing a significant understanding of the needs and the issues that they face. We were originally founded by those with experience of sex work and continue to be informed and shaped by the views of our community, helping to ensure we continue to meet their needs. Over this time, we have developed to become recognised as a lead organisation in supporting and working with sex workers in Nottingham and have a strong track record of being able to reach and engage this community when others are unable to.
