Charity People are thrilled to have partnered with an inspiring Hospice in their search for a Philanthropy Officer. This is an exciting time to join the fundraising team going through a period of growth. We are open to candidates from fundraising and commercial backgrounds.

Title: Philanthropy Officer

Location: Surrey, hybrid working

Type: Permanent

Hours: Full or Part time considered

Salary: £28 – £30k depending on experience

About the Hospice

The Hospice provide high quality care to patients and families through illness and bereavement. Their team of specialist nurses, doctors, therapists, social workers and volunteers work at the hospice and with families at home. They are all experts in end-of-life care who put compassion and respect at the heart of everything they do.

The Hospice’s fundraising is going through a period of growth and this is an exciting time to join a wonderful, supportive team who are passionate about supporting the work of the hospice.

About the role

This is a lovely role for a candidate who is looking to develop their skills in philanthropy. You will secure income from major donors, trusts and foundations and corporates.

The role is varied and will involve a range of activities such as prospect research, writing proposals, funding applications, and managing relationships with individual donors. You will also steward donors and project manage engagement activities and events.

About you

We are looking for a candidate who enjoys developing relationships. You may be early in your fundraising career, looking to develop your skills, or looking for the opportunity to transition your sales, project management, supporter care skills into a fundraising role.

You will be pro-active and positive, able to communicate in a way that connects donors to the hospice’s mission and inspires them to give financial and/or in-kind support.

You will be a good writer, with experience managing projects and relationships with stakeholders. Your passion for supporting the work of the hospice will be key to your success in this role.
