Description

The starting salary for this role is £61,463 - £69,514 per annum, working 36 hours per week.

This role is open to remote working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week. We’re less about you driving to work and more about us collectively driving down our carbon footprint. We care about how you work rather than where you work; the people rather than the postcode. In support of our people and our greener futures strategies, we’d welcome a conversation with the successful candidate on what remote working may look like for you.

Surrey County Council is undergoing a period of significant change. In the context of fundamental shifts in society, changing customer demands, the increasing need to deliver value for money and our ambition to be a leading council we need to rethink and reassess what we do and how we do it.

We are embarking on a new Transformation programme to reshape the way in which we deliver HR, Payroll and Finance transactional & operational services for Surrey County Council. This programme will bring together a number of key activities of organisational change and how the new ERP system will impact the way in which we work. The programme’s focus is on people, customer & system driven change, which influences our future strategy to design a new operating model. The Programme uses business insight and change management to pull together the activities already underway and help manage the interdependencies, enabling Surrey County Council to deliver strategic change. The programme sits within the broader Organisation Portfolio of Transformation Projects.

We are looking for a strong Programme & Stakeholder Manager to drive forward this evolving programme within a complex and moving context.

The role is initially fixed term for 9 months, with the potential to extend. The role is scoped as full time, but we would encourage individuals with flexible working requirements to apply.

You will be able to ensure the delivery of outcomes to time and budget while retaining flexibility to enable the programme to respond to and build on new opportunities as they arise and adapt to learning as it occurs.

We are looking for people who are organised, analytical, creative, have excellent communication skills, experience working with a broad range of stakeholders and who are not afraid to challenge the status quo.

You will be a “hands on” programme manager who proactively develops briefs, plans and business cases, collaboratively working with partners. You will facilitate stakeholder engagement and hold the delivery teams to account, as well as ensuring high quality governance and reporting.

At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
