Hillbrook Primary School is an Outstanding Primary School with a fantastic reputation. We are a large 3/4 form entry School at the heart of a diverse and vibrant multi-ethnic community. We are located in Tooting South West London, very close to both Tooting Broadway and Tooting Bec Stations.
The role will be based in Little Hillbrook, the Specialist nursery.
We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated, patient individual to join our friendly and committed team. You will be supporting children with Autism/Social Communication Difficulties and other related complex needs. An understanding and previous experience of working with children with ASD/Social Communication Difficulties is desirable. Some knowledge of Makaton, Sensory Integration and PECS would be an advantage.
Your responsibilities would include:
- Supporting children within a class with additional needs
- Working with the Class teacher, Senco and other support staff to prepare resources and deliver lessons to individuals and small groups
- Having a flexible approach to behaviour management
- Being a positive and solution focused member of the team
- Liaising with Parents and external agencies to support children
