Location: Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health, New Richards Building, Old Road Campus, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7LG

Applications are invited for an Operations Officer to join the Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health (CTM&GH), University of Oxford. You will join the administration team led by the Director of Finance and Operations (DFO), Business Manager (BM) and Deputy Business Manager (DBM).

Reporting to the DBM, you will support the operation and administration of The Oxford Centre for Global Health Research (OCGHR). The OCGHR has grown dramatically in size over the last 5 to 10 years and has several world leading research initiatives based within it. You will proactively respond to the operational challenges facing the OCGHR. As the Operations Officer, you will lead and line manage the Academic Support team, and provide professional advice on operational matters including areas of risk, health & safety, third party contracts and other areas, and contribute to CTM&GH’s strategy and policy.

It is essential that you are educated to degree level together with experience of administrative work in a varied working environment, ideally in a Higher Education, charity, public sector or other large and complex organisation. You will have excellent communication and writing skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas with a clear, concise writing and presentation style. The ability to work independently using own initiative and as part of a team demonstrating a flexible and helpful approach, particularly with respect to staff based on another continent and in supporting colleagues when necessary is essential.
