Empowering Learning are supporting a SEN school based in North London who cater for deaf children aged 3 - 16 years. The current Headteacher will be taking maternity leave from September 2022 for one academic year, therefore they are looking to appoint an Acting Headteacher (Maternity cover) from September 2022 on a full-time or part-time basis (3 days per week if part-time).

This is a bi-lingual school where British Sign Language (BSL) is taught and used alongside spoken English. Therefore, applications are welcome from senior leaders who are already BSL users and non-BSL users, but the role would also be suited to those willing to learn and immerse themselves within a sign bilingual environment.

The Headteacher will be supported by a Deputy Headteacher at the secondary site and an Interim Head of School at the primary site and both will oversee the day to day running of the school sites.

The school currently hold a 'Good' Ofsted rating and the governors are looking for candidates with experience of strategic leadership, and related qualifications, to ensure that the school continues to move forward on its journey of school improvement in the substantive Headteacher's absence. You will be tasked with Ofsted preparation, updating and enhancing certain school policies, updating the current school website, creating a clear staff structure, alongside various strategic projects during your time in the role.

Salary offered: £82,000 - £94,000 (Dependent on experience)
