Description

Curve is a leading producing theatre, creating compelling cultural experiences for all those who live, learn and work in Leicester and Leicestershire. Under the leadership of Chief Executive, Chris Stafford and Artistic Director Nikolai Foster, Curve has developed a reputation for producing, programming and touring a bold and diverse programme of musicals, plays, new work and dance. All of this is presented alongside a dynamic mix of community engagement and learning opportunities, which firmly places audiences and communities at the heart of everything we do. Curve is operated by Leicester Theatre Trust (LTT) and is a registered charity.

LTT are now seeking an exceptional candidate for the role of Chair to succeed Ian Squires when he steps down from the post later this year. The Chair will provide visionary leadership for Curve and the Board of Trustees, enabling them to fulfil their responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of LTT. The role holder will work in partnership with the Chief Executive to ensure LTT is well managed and resourced and that all trustee decisions are acted upon. The Chair will also work closely with the Board and Executive team to ensure LTT makes a valuable contribution to Arts Council England’s ‘Let’s Create’ strategy and supports the delivery of Leicester City Council’s ambitions for Culture. The Chair will be a public face for the charity and a leader of growth, diversity and sustainability with a passion for the arts and a strong base of networks.

Candidates will bring a track record of senior leadership in a complex environment, strong governance experience and a clear understanding of the responsibilities of chairing a charity and a non-executive board. Communication and stakeholder management expertise are essential to serve as a compelling ambassador for Curve and its work. Candidates should also have some understanding of the context in which the LTT operates, including the statutory funding environment.

The position of Chair is voluntary, and therefore unremunerated, however travel and other reasonable expenses directly incurred in the role of Chair will be reimbursed.

You can find out more about the role, working at Curve and details of how to apply by visiting our website. If you feel you have the skills suitable for this role, please submit a covering letter setting out why you are suitable and why you want to work at Curve (no more than one page) along with your CV.

Closing date for applications: Monday 4th July

Interview: Monday 25th July
