A small, specialist Arts college in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside are looking for an aspiring Biology teacher to train with them on the Teaching Apprenticeship Programme.

The Teaching Apprenticeship Programme (TAP) can provide you with the opportunity to gain Qualified Teacher Status in a school using a practical, hands-on approach, where regardless of your previous school experience you can benefit from quality training, valuable experience and support from qualified teachers throughout your year as a Trainee Biology Teacher.
In addition to this, a Trainee Biology Teacher will be paid in line with an unqualified teacher which is £18,419 and there are no course fees involved, meaning you can focus on your training and your students rather than covering your costs.
Entry Requirements for a Trainee Biology Teacher:
- Completed a Bachelor of Honours in Biology or a Science related subject (preferably a 2.1 or above)
- GCSEs C(5) or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Have to ordinarily been a UK resident for the last 3 years or longer (ESSENTIAL TO MEET ESFA FUNDING RULES AND THEREFORE WE CANNOT CONSIDER APPLICATIONS WHICH DO NOT MEET THIS)
- A commitment to make a difference and the ability to inspire and motivate
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable
- The ability to bring a sense of fun and real world applications to scientific concepts
- A strong classroom presence to achieve high levels of student engagement and build strong student relationships
- An inspirational approach to motivate students
As this position is for a teaching position and involves working with children all candidates will be subject to safeguarding checks in line with KCSIE policies.
