Split place of work between Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) and Home

University College of Estate Management (UCEM) is a long-standing and leading provider of supported online education. We exist to provide accessible, relevant and cost-effective education which enhances careers, increases professionalism and leads to a better Built Environment; we are also very passionate about sustainability. Operating from the UK and Hong Kong we have a global reach, and at any one time over 3,500 students are studying online with us. UCEM passed its first ever inspection by Ofsted with flying colours after earning an overall rating of ‘Good’ in November 2021.

This is a new opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant to join UCEM and support our Vice-Principals to help meet the UCEM vision: to become the Centre of Excellence for Built Environment Education! You must have previous relevant experience in a high level secretarial or administrative role, with strong relationship building and communication skills (particularly in being clear and concise), as well as the ability to work flexibly and efficiently. Excellent IT skills (MS Office), particularly Excel and Outlook, are essential. Sound knowledge of, or experience in, the higher education or another regulated environment is essential for success in this role.

Your key responsibilities will centre around:

  • Supporting the Vice-Principals in all aspects of diary management
  • Provide project support for strategies, policies and project planning being led by the Vice-Principals Book UK and international travel
  • Organise and support meetings, including preparing meeting packs and minute taking Ghost write communications and assist in proofreading other UCEM documentation on behalf of the Executive Directors Deal proactively with incoming post and emails, including preparing draft responses and seeking information from relevant sources
