We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive Senior Category Manager to lead the delivery of Procurement strategy and sourcing projects. This role will build strategic relationships with a network of senior stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify opportunities and maximise value for money.

You'll have significant experience and knowledge of category management principles, as well as the ability to build relationships at all levels. You'll thrive in a matrix structure, and ideally you have a passion for our cause.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop and maintain the strategy using supply market analysis, category risks and business requirements, with a clear identification of opportunities for added value and efficiency, as well as risk mitigation to protect CRUK's interests.

• Work collaboratively with business stakeholders at all levels to deliver the agreed strategy, with constructive challenge in order to optimise requirements and demand.

• Implement category strategies and monitor performance against agreed initiatives

• Define sourcing strategy for individual goods and services and establish suitable preferred supplier lists, ensuring this is adhered to.

• Lead sourcing events, including supplier evaluation and selection, to ensure aggregation of demand and competitive benchmarking of quality and cost.

• Lead contract negotiations and draft commercial schedules to ensure robust commercial and contractual terms are in place to protect CRUK and ensure value for money.

• Communicate preferred supplier arrangements to CRUK and ensure the contract is transitioned to the relevant contract manager.

• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders (contract managers and owner) to manage the contract governance, compliance, spend and lifecycle.

• Support and lead (where relevant) in managing the supplier performance and risks to ensure value for money and risk mitigation.

• Develop strategic supplier relationships to identify joint opportunities for added value and innovation.

Key Technical Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Behaviours:

Minimum Criteria:

• Significant experience and knowledge of category management principles.

• Significant experience of building strong relationships at all levels, internally and externally with a drive to innovate through collaboration

• Relevant experience of influencing a range of stakeholders, at all levels, to deliver strategic initiatives and build new opportunities

• Significant negotiation experience
